                               Sunshine Coast B.C

Our first stay at a B&B in Canada was here at The Lodge.  The owners Lorna, Yvonne and Reg (and their 3 dogs) made us very welcome indeed. The house is beautiful and has been very tastefully designed and decorated, The Spa Room where we stayed was particularly nice with the "piece de resistance" being the wonderful bathroom complete with jacuzzi bath.  The area is as you would expect of B.C - lovely. The little harbours and creeks in the vicinity being ideal for a chilled out mooch around or if you prefer Reg can fix you up with a cruise round Pender Harbour with a guy he knows who owns a boat.  There are a few good eating places around but you'll need a car to get to them from here but this no hardship as any drive around the Pender Harbour / Madiera Park area is very pleasant.

Yvonne works as fabric artist from the "yurts" (Google it, I had to!) at the entrance to the lodge, she's a very talented lady who will be only too pleased to give you the conducted tour of the workshop and gallery.

A very highly recommended B&B

Comox, Vancouver Island

The Torries and Rafiki the Weimaraner (she's a sweetheart) welcomed us into their beautiful home.  The house is situated on a spacious well kept housing estate not too far from Comox but far enough that the car is needed to go eat out.  Guests should be aware that the bathroom on the lower floor suite isn't en suite but across the small hallway, which ok but I'm not sure the world is ready for me scuttling about in public in my skiddies!

Sooke, Vancouver Island

Whiffin Spit Lodge is a very clean & comfortable B&B, Al & Sheila are a lovely down to earth couple who go out of their way to ensure guests are made to feel very welcome. They can also give excellent advice on where to go and what to see around this superb area of Vancouver Island.  The "Green Room that we stayed in was extremely comfortable, I managed to get my first decent nights sleep here since arriving in Canada.  There are quite a few places to eat in the small town, most within walking distance and Sheila also cooks a mean breakfast!

Another highly rated and recommended B&B

Lillooet

The Mile 0 Motel is situated on the main street through Lillooet and is convenient for most restaurants etc in the town.  It's reasonably clean although our room was showing the ravages of time and was in need of a spruce up, in particular the bathroom which had some unidentifiable growth doing quite well in the soap dish!  As with most motels though we didn't expect anything outstanding and this lived up to expectations. I'd like to say it was cheap and cheerful but it wasn't that cheap either!  The staff (what we saw of them) were nice enough though.  Ok for one or two nights stay but if I'd booked for any longer then I'd have thought about moving out for something better.
